What is a rider?
A rider is a document that describes the requirements that are needed for you to do what you have been invited to do. This can include requested travel accommodations, hospitality needs, music equipment etc.
 
When should a rider be used?
You should send a rider to the host party that has invited you prior to the occasion start date but within enough time for the host party to fulfill the requested needs. In many cases, a rider accompanies a contract when it is sent to the host party for signature after you accept the invitation.
 
Who should complete a rider?
You should complete a rider and send it to the host party that has invited you so that they will know the accommodations to have in place for you to be with them.
 
How does a rider get completed?
You list as much detail as possible describing all that you will need to fulfill the assignment that the host has invited you to do (i.e. travel accommodations, hospitality needs, music equipment etc).
